How Wallace handles your data.
Plain English. We collect the minimum we need to run Wallace, we don't sell your data, and your sources stay yours. This page covers what's collected, why, and what you can do about it.
Open alpha: Wallace is in active development. We may add or change data practices as the product evolves — we'll update this page and email registered users when material changes ship.
Who we are
Wallace is built by Doppel Labs. When this notice says "we," it means Doppel Labs. You can reach us at support@doppelabs.ai.
What we collect
- Account info — the email address you sign up with, plus any name or affiliation you choose to add.
- Content you bring — the papers, notes, highlights, and queries you put into your library. This is your work; we hold it so you can use the product, and we don't read it for any purpose other than running Wallace for you.
- Usage signals — basic events like sign-ins, feature usage, and error reports, used to fix bugs and improve the product. We aggregate this where possible.
- Support communications — anything you send us through the feedback form or email, so we can reply.
What we don't collect
- We don't sell or rent your data to advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't read your library to train general-purpose models.
- We don't track you across other sites with cookies.
How we use it
- To provide Wallace — letting you save sources, search them, and ask questions across your library.
- To answer your questions through the language models we use under the hood, only with the context you've explicitly given Wallace.
- To fix bugs, ship updates, and respond to support requests.
- To send transactional email (account, security, important updates).
Who else processes your data
We use a small set of trusted vendors to run Wallace — cloud hosting, transactional email, analytics, language model inference. We pick vendors that take privacy seriously, sign standard data-processing agreements, and use them only to deliver Wallace's features. A current list is available on request.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and library for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we delete your library within 30 days. Aggregated, non-identifiable usage data may be kept longer for product analysis.
Your choices
- You can export your library at any time from your account settings.
- You can delete your account and have your library erased.
- Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR / CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@doppelabs.ai and we'll honor it.
Children
Wallace isn't intended for users under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we've collected data from a minor, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this notice
When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify registered users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated notice.
